About the Speaker:
Dr. Christian Temath has been managing director of the competence platform KI.NRW since September 2020. KI.NRW is the central contact point for artificial intelligence (AI) in North Rhine-Westphalia. At the Fraunhofer IAIS in Sankt Augustin, he and his team are working on establishing the “AI made in NRW” brand and strengthening the technological sovereignty of North Rhine-Westphalia. A PhD in Business Informatics, he has many years of experience in management consulting in the field of technology as well as in the practical application of AI technologies at an international e-commerce company.

Future prospects for AI: opportunities and possible applications for companies
In his keynote speech, Dr. Christian Temath, Managing Director of the KI.NRW competence platform, explains what lies behind the term artificial intelligence. He will discuss the importance of AI for companies and the opportunities it offers. In addition to current applications in various sectors such as industry, trade and commerce, he will shed light on which AI trend topics could play a significant role in the future. These include the question of how the data processing of tomorrow can be made faster and more energy-efficient, as well as initial approaches to the new era of generative AI “made in Europe”. Temath will show how much potential there is in AI using a variety of concrete examples and best practices from North Rhine-Westphalia. The AI lecture also touches on the ethical and social aspects of artificial intelligence, because for Temath, it is clear: Humans are at the center of trustworthy AI.
