DigitalCitizen aims to empower citizens in digital competencies, including legal literacy (knowing and asserting digital rights and obligations), data literacy (interpretation, use, and protection of data), and protection literacy (learning resilience techniques and capability to self-defense by developing a 4D flipped classroom-inspired system that has micro-learning components and interactive mini-games to present the learning material in engaging, bite-sized components. The project will have the following results:
– Upskilling more than 400 HE community members (each university 200) on the three pillars of DigitalCitizen, empowering individuals to navigate the digital world respectfully, lawfully, and responsibly.
– The development of a flipped classroom-inspired system that has micro-learning components and an innovative learning platform that utilizes interactive mini-games to present the learning material in engaging, bite-sized components (TRL 6-7) in 6 languages (EN, DE, IT, ES, CS, EL).
– The development of assessment tools that offer teachers insights about students’ digital citizenship competencies.
– Support educators with specialized training to develop students’ critical thinking and innovative thinking alongside complex problem-solving and social-emotional competency.
– Organisation of hackathons, workshops, and training sessions on various ICT-related digital citizen skills, including digital communication, cybersecurity, digital commerce, and digital footprint, aiming to reach 1,000+ people through hybrid public events.
